Okanagan College High School Entrance awards are now open.  These awards are for students graduating in 2023 from a secondary school within the Okanagan College region (Revelstoke to Princeton), and entering Okanagan College in Fall 2023:

Wanjara Nomad Collections has compiled an extensive collection of historical artifacts to preserve and share the history of Sikhs. This includes exploring how Sikhs perceive their past, present, and future.

As part of its efforts, Wanjara Nomad Collections is offering five scholarships worth $1,300 each to support post-secondary education for grade 12 students in British Columbia who will be attending a post-secondary institution in September 2023. These scholarships are open to all students, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or citizenship status.

Our goal is to inspire and empower students to pursue their dreams, make a positive impact on their communities and the world, and contribute to the legacy of Canada. We believe that education is the key to progress, and that young people have the power to shape the future. We are proud to offer these scholarships as a way to support and encourage the next generation of leaders.

Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships

160 $5,000 Scholarships Awarded
Funded through the generosity of the Members of the Canadian Association

The Canadian Scholarships are awarded to eligible students across all provinces and territories in Canada.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled full-time as a high school grade 11or first-year CEGEP student in Canada
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university
  • Prove critical financial need ($65,000 or less annual net income per family is required)
  • Demonstrate desire and ability to be entrepreneurial in a chosen field
  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Maintain a minimum grade percentage of 70
  • Be Canadian citizens

Enriching Programs. Our Expanding Horizons program takes students attending an inner-city elementary school on extraordinary field trips. Partnering with Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus, we also provide summer day camps for these students, exposing them to career experiences that inspire interest in higher learning and shape their aspirations.

As a national charitable group called IODE, we are a community service group that supports educational endeavors.

Attached are application forms for a Visual and Performing Arts Bursary, Southern Interior Region, for $1000. and an IODE BC Arts Award for $1000.  They are open to secondary students who will be pursuing further studies in their field.
